Monday Morning Photo - Wisteria Time in Andalucia

How quickly spring comes around after the short winter here in the Sierra Sur de Jaén. After lots of very much needed rain we´re back to the normal cloudless blue.  My garden is shooting incredbily with the moisture and now sunshine. And my beautiful wisteria flowers grandly albeit it short-lived. The big black carpenter bees love it. Each flowering season reminds me of the Botanical Gardens in Malaga and the ´tunnel´ of wisteria that I haven´t yet caught in bloom. April is a good time to plan to go if it´s on your list.  Here´s the botanical garden link La Concepción Botanical Gardens. And a sneaky peak at the wisteria. See the Monday Morning Photos list.

Lanjaron, Las Alpujarras - La Casa del Viento

Casa Viento

On a horse riding reccy trip to Lanjaron we stayed at the lovely La Casa del Viento (house of the wind) for the night. Being high above Lanjaron we had some great views and a welcome breeze.

La Casa del Viento consists of various size and shaped rustic apartments all of which are delightfully furnished and cared for by the live-in owner Anne. Anne is there to welcome guests and provides dinner and Sunday lunches around the pool.

Almost on the GR7 walking route, Lanjaron is a great base for walking, horse riding and exploring Las Alpujarras.

With a unique history and special location, on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, Las Alpujarras offer dramatic scenery, diverse wildlife and a step-back-in-time relaxed pace of life.
