Monday Morning Photo - The Alcázar, Córdoba

The water terraces and fountains in the 14th century Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos in Córdoba.

The Alcázar was built on the orders of Alfonso XI in 1328 and was the base for Fernando II and Isabel during their campaign to conquer the Moorish held city of Granada. The gorgeous gardens, fish ponds and fountains were restored in the 1950s and make a delightful resting spot with shade and the trickling of water.
